Gold Star Award from Lodging World

We have just been awarded a Gold Star Award from Lodging World which is great news for 2015.

We pride ourselves at The Vines by providing a warm welcome and accommodate our guests to the best of our abilities.  Sometimes this can be a real challenge and we are positive that 2015 will be a great year.

Thetford Forest Concert 2014

There is a fabulous line up of acts on at Thetford Forest which is only 20 mins from The Vines. Why not take the opportunity to stay overnight with us before or after to make the event more relaxing.

New and old

Since re-opening at the beginning of April we are welcoming guests old and new to The Vines.

The garden is starting to shape up and come to life which makes living in the country even more pleasurable.

The blossom is out on our apple tree and looks so so pretty.

The Vines has had some refurbishment in the quieter period however as of 1st April 2014 we are open for the season.

Please come back and see us again or visit for the first time. We are genuine dog lovers and you and your dog(s) or if travelling without dogs will be made most welcome.

Here are our brood.  They do not go into the public areas without being invited.

The sheep have arrived

We really are in a lovely spot, at the bottom of our garden is a natural meadow where the sheep arrive every year around this time and hopefully in a few days we will have some lovely baby lambs.

Pushing the boundaries

Despite the fact that I am nearly 8 years old, every so often I like to push the boundaries and challenge my mum.

It must really irritate her as I have been for a lovely long walk over the forest and upon my arrival home felt a little bored I suppose and decided to see if I could make an escape.

I could hear her calling me and by her tone she seemed a little unimpressed so as I couldnt actually get out, sadly, I thought I would reappear and make her smile, it worked, thank goodness…on top of the dog kennel which is about 10 foot high…….I wont be telling her how I got there in case I decide to do it again..ha, ha.

Update on our rooms and breakfast room.

The Vines B&B slideshow (2)

We took the opportunity whilst closed for the winter to refresh some of our rooms and have completely redone our breakfast room which looks fab.  Please come and see for yourself. We re-open on 1st April 2014.

As a passionate animal lover we were delighted to come across these two on our morning walk.  Our dogs were unfazed as I have a pony of my own and they were very well behaved.

Strangely you dont often see horses in the forest, think is the second time in a good 2/3 years.

While its quiet

As we begin 2014 we have had some refurbishment done in late 2013 at The Vines which includes an updated breakfast room and decorating.

We have one large table now for breakfast which we anticipate guests will enjoy as they get together for breakfast and a convivial start to their day.

Its always best to attempt this work in the quieter period.  2013 was again a really busy year for us and we look forward to welcoming guests from April 2014 onwards.  Those who stay with us regularly and those who have never stayed with us before.

Wishing each and everyone of you a great 2014.
